GENERAL ENGLISH AND ENGLISH FOR SCHOOLS
The exam focusses on level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference Language [CEFR]. It shows that students can use every day English at a basic level. The exams are specifically designed to motivate school-aged learners. It shows that students have masters the basics in English.
- KET: Key English Test
This is the basic level qualification that shows you can use English to communicate in simple situations. It shows you have made a good start in learning English. This is specifically designed to motivate school aged learners. The exam is at CEFR level A2.
- PET: Preliminary English Test
This is an intermediate level of English qualification. It shows you are able to use your English language skills for work, study and travel. This shows you can use English for everyday social and study purpose. The exam is at CEFR level B1.
- FCE: First Certificate in English
This is an upper-intermediate level qualification. It proves you can use everyday written and spoken English for work or study purpose. This exam is based on familiar topics and situations in school and social life of a student, it gives them the confidence to use their English and inspires them to move on to further qualification. The exam is at CEFR level B2.
